Building Permits

The Town of Glasgow endorses building permit applications for construction within the Town limits. Building permits themselves are issued by Rockbridge County Building Inspections; the Town’s endorsement confirms the project complies with Glasgow’s zoning and ordinances.

How to apply

1. Download the Town’s endorsement form: Application for Building Permit Endorsement (PDF)
2. Submit the completed form to Town Hall along with site plans and any other materials describing the project.
3. Town staff will review the application for zoning compliance and (if approved) endorse it.
4. Submit the endorsed application to Rockbridge County Building Inspections to obtain the building permit.
